Official Beverage of the Rock Island Roadhouse
Haunted Happy Hour Coffee
"Haunted Happy Hour Helen's Black Forest Blend" is a special coffee blend created by Haunted Happy Hour Inc. and is inspired by the "notorious madam, Helen's VanDale" and is crafted for the Rock Island Roadhouse.
John Looney & Helen Van Dale, the building's resident spirits, were integral to this blend's creation. While collaborating with location owner Lisa Vinar, and Kandi and Derek Slater to explore different flavors, both spirits made their presence known, adding their unique contributions to the process, with Helen's touch distinctly shaping this brew as her own.
In 2026 a tribute to Rock Island’s most notorious vice lord was added to the lineup. This blend delivers a rich hazelnut flavor layered with a subtle hint of cinnamon, together creating a smooth, whiskey-like softness that lingers like a well-made pour in the back room of the Rock Island Roadhouse. John Looney’s Hazelnut Heist is a bold yet smooth coffee with a quiet strength. Familiar, warming, and unmistakably memorable. It’s a cup made to be kept close, just like the stories that inspired it.
Proceeds from each sale of this medium-roast, Nicaragua-origin blend support the roadhouse.
